The Physical Therapy Technician supports Physical Therapists (PTs) and Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) in delivering high-quality patient care. This role is essential for maintaining an organized, efficient clinic environment, assisting with treatment preparation, and ensuring patients have a safe, comfortable experience.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree with coursework in healthcare or exercise science preferred.
  • Previous experience in a rehabilitation, fitness, or healthcare setting preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy, exercise, and medical terminology is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions from PTs and PTAs.
  • Physical stamina to assist patients and perform repetitive movements.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, escort them to treatment areas, and prepare them for therapy sessions
  • Assist patients with exercises and activities as instructed by PTs or PTAs.
  • Encourage and ensure patient safety during treatment.
  • Set up and clean treatment areas before and after patient sessions.
  • Prepare therapy equipment and supplies for use (e.g., hot/cold packs, exercise tools).
  • Monitor and maintain equipment, reporting any damage or malfunction.
  • Schedule patient appointments and verify insurance information (as applicable).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Help with front desk coverage when needed.
  • Maintain therapy spaces as clean, well-stocked, and well-organized as possible.
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols.
