The Physical Therapy Technician supports Physical Therapists (PTs) and Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) in delivering high-quality patient care. This role is essential for maintaining an organized, efficient clinic environment, assisting with treatment preparation, and ensuring patients have a safe, comfortable experience.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree with coursework in healthcare or exercise science preferred.
- Previous experience in a rehabilitation, fitness, or healthcare setting preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of anatomy, exercise, and medical terminology is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions from PTs and PTAs.
- Physical stamina to assist patients and perform repetitive movements.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients, escort them to treatment areas, and prepare them for therapy sessions
- Assist patients with exercises and activities as instructed by PTs or PTAs.
- Encourage and ensure patient safety during treatment.
- Set up and clean treatment areas before and after patient sessions.
- Prepare therapy equipment and supplies for use (e.g., hot/cold packs, exercise tools).
- Monitor and maintain equipment, reporting any damage or malfunction.
- Schedule patient appointments and verify insurance information (as applicable).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Help with front desk coverage when needed.
- Maintain therapy spaces as clean, well-stocked, and well-organized as possible.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols.
