About Coastal Recovery Coastal Recovery is a leading provider of integrated behavioral health services in Myrtle Beach, SC, specializing in Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment through Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs. The Opportunity We are seeking a licensed Physician Assistant (PA) to serve as a core member of our interdisciplinary treatment team in Myrtle Beach, SC. In this full-time, on-site role, you will provide psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and ongoing medical oversight within a structured PHP/IOP setting. This position does not include inpatient call demands. Your days are centered on patient assessments, medication management, and coordinated care within our PHP and IOP programs. You will work alongside therapists, nurses, and case management staff in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and clinical reviews. Documentation is completed in an established EMR with defined clinical workflows, and you will have access to supportive medical leadership throughout.

Requirements

  • Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) credential in the State of South Carolina, active and in good standing.
  • Active DEA registration (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Demonstrated experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, or substance use disorder treatment is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of psychotropic medications, MAT protocols, and monitoring requirements.
  • Strong clinical judgment, assessment skills, and ability to manage complex client presentations.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary behavioral health environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric and medical assessments for PHP and IOP patients upon admission and throughout treatment
  • Provide medication management in accordance with scope of practice, supervisory agreements, and program protocols
  • Monitor patient response to psychotropic and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) medications
  • Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and case management staff to ensure integrated, coordinated care
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and clinical reviews
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Support continuity of care, including coordination with external providers and referral sources
  • Adhere to all applicable South Carolina licensing, supervision, and program requirements
