About The Position
Physician Assistant – General Surgical Services (OR-Focused) Non-Exempt | Full-Time Location: Good Samaritan University Hospital and Outpatient facility at 580 Union Boulevard, West Islip, NY 11795 Join a high-volume, collaborative surgical team in West Islip offering extensive operating room exposure, strong surgeon mentorship, and a supportive APP environment. This role is ideal for a surgical PA seeking hands-on OR experience with continuity of care in the outpatient setting. Park, MD Dr. Garri Pasklinsky,MD Nathan Thomas, DO Pratibha Vemulapalli, MD The PA will collaborate with all surgeons, supporting their patients throughout the perioperative continuum. Position Overview This role is primarily focused on operating room support (~80%), with the remaining 20% dedicated to outpatient care, including pre-operative evaluations, post-operative follow-ups, and patient education. The PA will work closely with surgeons, nursing staff, and office personnel to ensure high-quality, coordinated care.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
- Current New York State Physician Assistant licensure.
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- BLS and ACLS required – from AHA
Nice To Haves
- Previous surgical experience or a strong interest in surgery preferred.
Responsibilities
- First assist in the operating room
