Join a well-balanced Department with a welcoming environment from colleagues and dedicated support staff; the position includes procedures, outpatient clinic, hospital call, Echo, Ekg, stress test and covering pacemaker clinic. - Join 2 other Interventional Cardiologists and 3 Advanced Practice Providers - This is a Non-Structural Interventional Cardiologist role - State of the Art Cath Lab - Busy established outpatient practice - Clinic is adjacent to a Trauma Level IV – 56 bed hospital We strongly encourage our physicians to be involved in medical education and research to continue building our strong foundation of patient care, research and education for years to come. Community Description Located in western Wisconsin, Eau Claire, meaning French for clear waters, is located at the confluence of the Chippewa and Eau Claire Rivers, and is considered to be one of Eau Claire’s finest assets and a valuable link to the area’s heritage. The most recent investment in the arts and live music scene is the Pablo Center at the Confluence, a 1,200+ seat theatre with an approximately 400-seat flexible theatre that has three rehearsal, dance and community rooms, visual arts galleries and more. Eau Claire is home to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Chippewa Valley Technical College, as well as excellent public and private K-12 schools. Recreation for all seasons is close by and includes boating, fishing, golf, hiking and nature trails, bicycle trails, as well as snowmobile, cross-country ski and snowshoe areas. Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • An applicant who has just completed a fellowship shall provide his/her fellowship log with a minimum of 250 therapeutic interventional cardiac procedures documented and a letter of reference must come from the fellowship director.
  • An applicant who is not applying directly out of a fellowship shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the past 24 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.
  • For Interventional catheterization skills, applicants should provide documentation of 250 interventional procedures as the primary operator within the past 24 months and a letter of reference regarding competency from the director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at the institution where the applicant most recently practiced.
  • If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant’s hospital-based clinical activity for the past 24 months is required.
  • For Interventional catheterization skills, applicants should provide documentation of 250 interventional procedures as the primary operator within the past 24 months and a letter of reference regarding competency from the director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at the institution where the applicant most recently practiced.
  • Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Internal Medicine residency program of at least 3 years’ duration, and completion of a fellowship in Cardiology of at least 3 years’ duration and have successfully completed an additional 12 months of fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology.
  • The ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada must accredit all programs.
  • Certification by the appropriate specialty /subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
