Visas Accepted H1B or J1 Specialty Pathology - Anatomic & Clinical Practice Details The Division of Laboratory Medicine of the Marshfield Clinic Health System is seeking an enthusiastic and team-oriented full-time board-certified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist to join our practice. This role will be 100% surgical pathology sign out at the main Marshfield campus in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Although the positions require general surgical pathology sign-out expertise, a specialty focus and fellowship are preferred. Call 1:6 weekends and 1:7 weeknights. Call usage is slim, and from home. You will be joining a laboratory team that includes nearly 20 pathologists located in four communities in central and northern Wisconsin and extending into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Our pathology specialists have expertise in cytopathology, dermatopathology, gastrointestinal pathology, hematopathology, infectious disease pathology, renal pathology, and transfusion medicine, and are supported by 2 PhD clinical laboratory scientists. The Pathology Department accessions approximately 50,000 surgical cases each year and maintains on-site ancillary diagnostic services including a broad immunohistochemical menu and transmission electron microscopy, Academic affiliations with regional universities and research opportunities in collaboration with the Marshfield Clinic Research Institute are encouraged. Job Description Pathology Core Privileges include the ability to provide consultation to diagnosis, rule out, and monitor disease using information microscopic examination of tissue specimens, cell samples, and body fluids, as well as from clinical laboratory tests on body fluids and secretions in a lab setting. After analyzing lab tests and interpreting the results, pathologists inform other physicians of the patient’s results.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways and should be reflective of the privileges being requested: An applicant who has just completed a residency shall provide his/her residency log. OR An applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital, clinic or laboratory where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity and quality data from the last 12 months.
  • More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.
  • Successful completion of a Pathology residency program in clinical and/or anatomic pathology that is accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the above, may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy.
  • Applicant must have certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement. (Refer to each entity’s policy for grandfather exceptions)
  • Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications, criteria, and scope of practice, if variation between documents exists.
