About The Position

This position projected to start in the early spring of 2027. The Pediatrician practices medicine in accordance with federally accepted medical care standards as reflected in Peoples Community Health Clinic's Principles of Practice. Diagnoses illness, prescribes and administers treatment for injury and disease. Expected to consistently work to ensure patient satisfaction and maintain positive relationships with other physicians and staff to help support the delivery of quality patient care. Performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission of Peoples Community Health Clinic, Inc.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school, with specialization in pediatric medicine.
  • Completion of a certified residency program.
  • Board certification or eligibility in pediatrics required.
  • Must complete all requirements necessary for the practice of medicine in Iowa including:
  • State agreements for payment of health services under Medicare and Medicaid.
  • DEA permission to prescribe and maintain controlled substances.
  • Malpractice insurability.
  • Iowa medical license.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric care management experience preferred.
  • Must be willing to as a resource for questions from Pediatric Nurse Practitioners within the clinic.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High language, high math, high reasoning ability
  • Skilled in planning, organizing, adaptability, attentiveness to detail and flexibility of assignment.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Products (ex. Excel, Work, Access, Power Point) and Windows Platform. Must be comfortable moving within an EHR computer system regularly
  • Ability to work within a team setting and to relate to the special needs of the patient population

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient examinations.
  • Orders/performs diagnostic tests on patient to provide information on medical condition.
  • Diagnoses medical condition of patient.
  • Prescribes or administers treatment.
  • Uses effective clinical judgment in referring patients and receiving referrals.
  • Maintains an accurate medical record to support clinical and business documentation requirements.
  • Works to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Maintains positive relationships with other physicians, staff, and health care students.
  • Plans, implements and/or administers treatment protocols.
  • Supports clinic staff meetings and adheres to guidelines.
  • Supports a service-oriented atmosphere in accordance with Peoples Community Health Clinic Mission and Philosophy.
  • Adheres to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
