Job Description Job Summary: Performs skilled plumbing/pipefitting work under general direction in the maintenance, repair, and installation of draining systems. Detailed Description: Read blueprints and drawings to determine specifications for installations. Installs and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures. Determines water supply networks and draining systems. Measures, cuts, threads and bends pipe to required angles. Perform routine maintenance. Review jobs prior to work assignments. Build estimates for work to be completed. Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations. Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipes. Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Tests completed work and make necessary adjustments. Makes periodic inspections of systems for safe and efficient operation Must be able to maintain work logs. Ability to use various power and hand tools efficiently. Maintains storage areas. May supervise others on major installations and job repairs. Other duties may be assigned.
