About The Position

Kent is looking for a Piping Designer to be based in our Corpus Christi, TX office and support regional project site(s). To understand piping project requirements, creating drafts and final designs, pitching creative ideas, collaborating with team members, and incorporating feedback to improve designs.

Requirements

  • BS, BA or AAS in Design or a related field.
  • Experience with AutoCAD software.
  • Familiarity with MFDs and Isometrics.
  • Understanding of visual elements (layout, type and fonts).
  • Teamwork skills.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Creativity skills and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Individual must be capable of taking safety training for entry into refinery/chemical facility environment. Requirements include but are not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, boots and gloves where necessary.
  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
  • The Employee shall observe the Health, Safety, Sustainability, Environment and Quality rules of the Company; it’s clients and the governing authorities of the host country.

Responsibilities

  • Field documentation with assistance.
  • P&ID modifications.
  • Extraction of ISOs from a model.
  • Filling out tie in lists.
  • Augment senior designers in the process of delivering a piping package.
  • Document research.
  • Requests for documentation from the site.
  • Providing information to the client for line numbers, drawing numbers, P&ID equipment numbers and other information required for completing a piping package.
  • As-built drawings if required per client requirements.
  • Hanging tie in tags with assistance.
  • Elevated or hazardous locations will be done by the site operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Must follow all safety rules and guidelines enforced by the said refinery or chemical facility, which is wearing proper safety clothing and facial hair.
  • In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
