About The Position

Overview Great pizza starts with great people. We’re looking for a skilled and energetic Pizza Oven Line Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you’ll bring handcrafted pizzas and crave-worthy appetizers to life in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Requirements

  • Flexibility: This is a fast-paced, high-heat environment, so flexibility with days, nights, weekends, and holidays is essential.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of line cook experience in a restaurant is required.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of pizza dough handling, oven techniques, food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper kitchen equipment use.
  • A current San Diego County Food Handler’s Card is required.
  • People Skills: Success in this role requires strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • The ideal candidate is detail-focused, dependable, and thrives under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Physical Demands: This position requires prolonged standing, repetitive motions, manual dexterity for food preparation, and the ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds. You will be exposed to high temperatures and open flames in a busy kitchen setting.

  • Previous pizza or wood-fired oven experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Thrive in a high-energy kitchen while preparing and finishing pizzas to our established recipes and quality standards.
  • Safely and efficiently operate the pizza oven while stretching dough, applying toppings, and carefully monitoring cooking times and temperatures.
  • Bring each dish to life by accurately following recipes and plating guides.
  • Cook, fry, mix, and plate additional menu items as needed, ensuring consistent presentation and portion control.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow all food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Communicate clearly with fellow kitchen team members and expediters during service.
  • Support prep work, stocking, and cleaning duties, and confidently handle high-volume service with accuracy and composure.
