We are searching for the best talent for a Planner External Supply to be in Guaynabo, PR! Alternative locations may be considered in Titusville, NJ and Horsham, PA. The Planner External Supply is a strategic liaison between the Internal J&J Innovative Medicine (JJIM) customers and the external manufacturing sites. This position is responsible for the global planning and material management of externally manufactured and or packaged products. It defines, measures, analyzes and implements improvements and controls material and planning processes to ensure base business, launches, long term, and individual's goals are aligned with JJIM strategic objectives. The success of this role is measured by timely deliveries of orders, which meet target inventory levels and maintain continuity of supply to our customers. It will support planning activities for the ITCI/Caplyta external sites.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required; Supply Chain, Business focus is preferred
  • At least four (4) years of experience in Supply Chain planning, Operations, or related field
  • Confirmed business insight in the area of Supply Chain and financials with clear understanding of external trends with proficiency in SAP and MS Excel programs
  • Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and partner across organizational boundaries
  • Ability to prioritize issues to support customer and supply chain requirements in a cross‑functional environment
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills to drive performance improvement
  • Establishes effective communications and common goals and objectives
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, presentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to rapidly changing priorities, and deliver results under tight deadlines
  • Acts as a role model for Credo‑based decision‑making, with excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Ability to partner with and influence others with minimal coaching
  • Availability to work flexible hours to accommodate US, EMEA, and Asia-Pac work schedules when needed, balancing work and personal time, is required
  • This position requires up to 10% domestic travel

Nice To Haves

  • APICS and/or LEAN Certification is a plus
  • Experience within master production schedule process, inventory and/or supply chain management
  • Demonstrated ability within scenario analysis, sales and operations planning, planning systems (APO/OMP), and other cross-functional business processes common to the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain balanced volume, detailed, and material supply plans considering operational efficiency, inventory cost, SLOB risk, and customer service
  • Execute SAP transactions, including creation and maintenance of Purchase Orders and master data to ensure reliable MRP/ERP outputs
  • Proactively identify and manage supply risks, driving short‑ and long‑term planning activities and day‑to‑day issue resolution
  • Manage inventory and SLOB processes to maintain accurate and target stock levels across DCs, EM sites, and CMOs
  • Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, IMTs, critical issue resolution, and supply chain process enhancements
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with E2E Planning, Finance, Procurement, QA/QC, PES, Inventory Management, IT, and external suppliers
  • Communicate forecasts, priorities, and event plans to internal and external manufacturing sites to align capacity, schedules, and service levels
  • Support S&OP, business planning, and new product launches, ensuring systems and processes are in place for successful execution
  • Track, analyze, and report supply chain performance metrics including OTIF, inventory targets, SLOB, DOC, stock‑outs, and launch readiness
  • Represent External Planning on global initiatives, support digital transformation, maintain training compliance, and drive personal and business excellence
