The Planner is responsible for generating comprehensive estimated proposals, attending job walks, and contributing to scope reviews. This role involves estimating direct and indirect man-hours, managing material requisitions, pricing and securing rental equipment, soliciting subcontractors, and coordinating with the General Contractor (GC) team to provide all necessary proposal information. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Site Manager; Performs a variety of routine duties within established policies.

Requirements

High school or equivalent
Minimum four (4) years to five (5) years of field experience and/or education in construction technology
Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills
Able to plan job tasks and job durations into a work schedule
May require Turner qualifications for proprietary software
Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

Generating comprehensive estimated proposals
Attending job walks
Contributing to scope reviews
Estimating direct and indirect man-hours
Managing material requisitions
Pricing and securing rental equipment
Soliciting subcontractors
Coordinating with the General Contractor (GC) team to provide all necessary proposal information
Reviews and incorporates historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures
Estimates worker-hours and materials required to complete the job
Reviews specifications, drawings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
Prepares estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work
Maintains files of working documents and back-up for estimate figures
Follows contracts as assigned - may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring material, etc.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
