About The Position

Sabre Systems is currently recruiting for a Planning, Development, and Integration (PDI) Senior Systems Engineer to support the H-60 Multi-Mission Helicopters Program Office (PMA 299) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The candidate will provide technical leadership to provide technical support and coordination of Science & Technology(S&T) /Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) efforts and alignment to the H-60 Roadmaps. The focus is on technology transition to move developed technologies to practical, operational application to increase H-60 readiness and lethality. The selected candidate will be responsible for but not limited to: Provide technical support and coordination of S&T/SBIR efforts and alignment to the H-60 Roadmaps Provide support to technical planning, execution and coordination of internal/external demo/prototype efforts and the transition to program of record. Collaborates with the NAVAIR Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the NAWCAD CTO, the NAWCWD CTO, academia, industry, and the Office of Naval Research to align efforts targeting Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 or higher within 24 months. Support development of systems engineering strategies, requirements documentation and initial CONOPS. Support of airworthiness and performance requirements coordination with stakeholders for flight clearances and SOW development. The candidate will ensure that engineering resources are applied to issues in a timely and effective manner to ensure effective program execution.

Requirements

  • Must have a have a master’s degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university or a bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience is required.
  • Must have ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to DoD Systems.
  • Must be interested in working in a small, agile team to accelerate delivery of capability to the warfighter. In-person position, not a remote position.
  • Must be mission-focused and familiar with a streamlined approach to NAVAIR process.
  • Demonstrated experience with technical planning, execution, and coordination.
  • Demonstrated experience with technology experimentation, demonstrations, and prototype efforts for technology transition to operational use.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Operational rotary-wing experience would be a benefit but not required.
  • TS/SCI strongly preferred
  • Science & Technology development & SBIR experience desired.
