About The Position

Currently, we have an exciting career opportunity for a part-time, paid Engineering co-op position to assist in projects to improve forging practices, costing, and processes. The co-op will be tasked with various short/long term projects to gather and analyze data required for efficient design/processing of forgings. Intern will be exposed to manufacturing environment, estimating of forging processes, manufacturing process planning, heat treatment, etc.

Requirements

  • Minimum second year students working towards Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
  • A strong technical aptitude along with the ability to work independently, yet interact closely with other departments, customers, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word); Oracle a plus.
  • Intern position will be flexible to work around breaks, weekly school schedule, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about the forging process and production tracking.
  • Assist with the planning of production routing.
  • Assist with the purchasing of supplies for the forge shop.
  • Support zero defect and pipeline projects to help improve productivity or reduce variable cost.
  • Track projects to determine success or failure and the potential impact.
  • Hold responsible for individual and group projects.
  • Other projects/duties as needed.
