Planning Intern (Co-op)

Currently, we have an exciting career opportunity for a part-time, paid Engineering co-op position to assist in projects to improve forging practices, costing, and processes. The co-op will be tasked with various short/long term projects to gather and analyze data required for efficient design/processing of forgings. Intern will be exposed to manufacturing environment, estimating of forging processes, manufacturing process planning, heat treatment, etc.
Requirements
- Minimum second year students working towards Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
- A strong technical aptitude along with the ability to work independently, yet interact closely with other departments, customers, and vendors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word); Oracle a plus.
- Intern position will be flexible to work around breaks, weekly school schedule, etc.

Responsibilities
- Learn about the forging process and production tracking.
- Assist with the planning of production routing.
- Assist with the purchasing of supplies for the forge shop.
- Support zero defect and pipeline projects to help improve productivity or reduce variable cost.
- Track projects to determine success or failure and the potential impact.
- Hold responsible for individual and group projects.
- Other projects/duties as needed.
