About The Position

To assure the daily, safe, efficient and effective operations of all plant equipment, machinery, and utilities in accordance with established policies and procedures. To assist in construction of production and building facilities. Maintain a clean facility and plant grounds with accordance of GMP policy.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate industrial equipment such as; hand wrenches, welders, power tools, cutting torch, and use tape measure.
  • Ability to drive and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to legibly document data for record keeping purposes.
  • Ability to read and record data from various gauges and meters.
  • General knowledge of maintenance and construction.
  • Ability to assist maintenance technicians when required.
  • High school diploma/GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience with equipment maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and report plant utility readings.
  • Monitor and record lagoon levels and leak detection.
  • Keep lagoon building clean.
  • Monitor aeration equipment on lagoons, monitor and report damage to liner and berms of lagoons.
  • Empty trash receptacles on a daily basis.
  • Maintain plant and lagoon facilities with mowing and weed control- Remove thistles as they accumulate around buildings.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair cooling and heating systems.
  • Repair and install pipes, fittings, fixtures and other plumbing duties as required.
  • Fills water softener with salt, test and maintain boiler records- maintain good working order of pumps for boiler chemical.
  • Replace boiler chemicals as needed.
  • Assist to construct and repair production facilities, including building, structure walls, floors, cabinets, and fixtures.
  • Assist in repairs of pumps, valves, and motors required by management.
  • Assist in snow and ice removal from company sidewalks and driveways.
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Complete monthly safety and food safety training.
  • Willingness to work with others and work as a team.
  • Follow good manufacturing practices for maintenance areas such as washing, cleaning, and maintaining tools and other equipment.
  • Accuracy in filling out paperwork and entering data.
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lift, JCB, and other motorized equipment in a safe and correct manner.
  • Reports any damage to company property.
  • Operate company vehicle as required with valid driver’s license.
  • Records and logs maintenance repairs and inspections.
  • Assist in replacement of bags in baghouse.
  • Ability to follow SOP, SSOP, and safety rules and regulations.
  • Clean storage areas- keep organized and orderly.
  • Assist as watch person for hot work/ Assist as attendant for confined space entry.
