About The Position

A day in the life You start with a safety huddle, reinforcing procedures and confirming permits. Work orders flow through the CMMS; you triage them, slotting preventive and predictive tasks while tackling urgent items. On the floor, you walk the extrusion line, coach techs on LOTO and safe practices, and review vibration and inspection data to prevent unplanned downtime. Midday, you align with Production and Quality on priorities, then step into project planning—coordinating an overhaul and a machine relocation. You close the day by checking KPIs, costs, and team goals, ensuring tomorrow’s plan advances reliability and budget targets. What you'll lead Develop, train, and mentor maintenance staff; uphold safe work practices and procedures at all times. Drive high performance through clear goals, skills development, and performance measurement. Own Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs for plant assets to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Direct and prioritize the daily workload of the Maintenance Department to meet production schedules. Manage departmental costs and resource utilization with a focus on efficiency and ROI. Plan and coordinate plant projects: equipment design and development, overhauls, and machine relocations. Serve as the primary liaison for state and federal inspections, local fire authorities, and insurance inspections. Balance administrative responsibilities with a strong, visible presence on the plant floor. Collaborate closely with Safety, Quality, Production, Shipping & Receiving, and Administrative teams. What you'll bring A systematic, scientific approach to troubleshooting and problem solving. Working knowledge of Lean, TPM, 5S, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Forms. Hands-on familiarity with LOTO, basic PLCs, VFDs, and both electrical and mechanical systems. Experience with machine shop tools and equipment (welders, grinders, lathes, cutting equipment, etc.). Understanding of capital planning processes and return-on-investment evaluation. Experience with CMMS platforms and inventory management practices.
