About The Position

Summary The Cleaner reports to the Maintenance Manager. The Cleaner is responsible for providing proper cleaning, detailing and overall all cleanliness of Material Recovery Facility (MRF) & Plant Equipment. Job Description Observes mechanical devices in operation and troubleshoots problems. Dismantles device to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, hand tools and power tools. Inspects used parts to determine changes on dimensional requirements, using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Adjusts functional parts of device and control instruments using hand and/or power tools. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Advise the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager of any operational problems. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Complies with all safety, health, environmental, and other Company policies, procedures and requirements. Perform preventative plant maintenance. General plant maintenance inspection and diagnosis & repairs. Welding & cutting as needed. Maintain, repair and clean MRF Equipment, including but not limited to upper and lower shaker decks, conveyor tunnels, walking floor tunnels, conveyor, beds, head & tail pulley. Maintain, repair and clean exhaust fans, including but not limited to air and carbon filters

Requirements

  • 3 years' experience in maintenance & repair in production style environment.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Fabrication knowledge (Mig/Tig/Arc/Oxy Acetylene/brazing etc.)
  • Sufficient working knowledge regarding plant component repairs and replacements.
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot and identify electrical/mechanical issues and complete in a safe timely manner.
  • Perform all tasks safely and in accordance with applicable OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Consistently behaves in a manner that is appropriate and professional.
  • Valid Class C Driver's License.
  • Acceptable Driver's Record.
  • Must possess personal tools.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a heavy labor role
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job - prolonged standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination
  • Exhibit the ability to learn and to assist others in the company's goals
  • Safety conscious
  • Ability to stand for a long period of time and work 3rd shift
  • Good communication skills

  • Clean MRF Equipment (conveyor, beds, head & tail pulley) from debris to ensure proper function of MRF equipment.
  • Clean MRF Equipment (shaker upper & lower decks) from debris to ensure proper function of MRF equipment.
  • Clean MRF Equipment (Exhaust fan Replacement of air & carbon filters as needed) to maintain in proper operation of units.
  • Clean MRF Equipment (conveyor tunnels) from debris to ensure proper function of MRF equipment.
  • Clean MRF Equipment (Walking floor tunnels) from debris to ensure proper function of MRF equipment.
  • Clean sweeps underneath conveyors as needed.
  • Clean MRF buildings from dust, debris, etc.
