About The Position

Golden Queen Mining Company, LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach along with the Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore. You have three or more years of experience as a supervisor in a mining environment, or similar environment, where you have overseen the maintenance of process equipment. You have experience maintaining a jaw crusher, cone crusher and high-pressure grinding roll crusher. You are experienced with chutes, conveyor belts, and associated equipment. You can develop and follow an effective maintenance plan. You are an effective leader who is hands-on, can oversee, and delegate as necessary. You foster teamwork and collaboration across multiple departments to meet department and company goals. As a Plant Maintenance Supervisor, you would report to the Plant Maintenance General Foreman. This is a safety sensitive position.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in an open pit mining environment with a focus on all facets of plant/process equipment maintenance.
Hands-on experience as a heavy equipment mechanic/millwright.
Previously held a supervisory position running a maintenance facility similar in complexity to the equipment and facilities associated with a mining environment.
Able to work with a mixed team of heavy-duty mechanics, welders, electricians, and support personnel.
Able and willing to lead by example and help guide mechanics and electricians through proper troubleshooting procedures.
Able to implement planned maintenance programs for plant/process equipment.
Able to present information in a manner that is clear and understandable.
Knowledgeable with computers and Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Email, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Proficient in verbal and written communication skills.
Willing and able to work shift work (if needed).

Responsibilities

Work closely with the Superintendent – Maintenance to develop and implement an effective maintenance program for the plant/process equipment.
Monitor and help implement an effective program for the plant/process equipment.
Monitor and maintain both short-term and long-term maintenance schedules starting with daily checks and extending to multi-year schedules including major overhauls.
Work closely with the Purchasing Coordinator and Maintenance Planner to procure maintenance supplies.
Work closely with maintenance personnel to ensure proper maintenance is performed on the plant and all associated equipment.
Follow maintenance plans to set maintenance priorities for mechanics, welders, electricians, and support personnel.
Support mechanics, welders, electricians, and support personnel with proper guidance and training as needed.
Maintain a work environment that attracts workers with the right skills for a demanding maintenance scenario.
Ensure a clean and safe work environment for all personnel with full compliance in all directives and regulations regarding safety, health and the environment.
