About The Position

The Plant Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the manufacturing facility. This role provides comprehensive leadership for all operational functions including Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and HSE.As the senior site leader, the Plant Manager acts as the business owner of the facility—fully accountable for financial performance, customer satisfaction, operational reliability, employee engagement, and long-term sustainability.  This individual ensures that the plant meets or exceeds NOV Fiber Glass Systems standards for safety, quality, and efficiency while fostering a high-performance culture built on integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.  The Plant Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping the plant’s culture, developing talent, and aligning the facility’s objectives with divisional and corporate strategies. In facilities without a dedicated Production/Manufacturing/Operations Manager, the Plant Manager assumes responsibility for production execution oversight and operational coordination across supervisors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success in leading safety, quality, and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of quality systems, Lean manufacturing, and performance management frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage complex production environments, high-mix manufacturing, and multi-shift operations.
  • Strong financial acumen with a track record of improving cost structure and operational profitability.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational leadership skills
  • Regular presence on the manufacturing floor, ensuring visible leadership and engagement.
  • Requires frequent walking, standing, bending, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to industrial noise and temperature variations typical of factory environments.
  • Travel up to 10% for business, training, and inter-plant coordination.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (SAP, JDE, or equivalent).
  • Deep knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems and compliance requirements under API, ASME, and ISO standards.
  • Familiarity with project management, CAPEX execution, and risk-based decision-making.
  • Skilled in interpreting and applying NOV’s Global Quality Management documents (GQP-01 through GQP-10) and related work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, communicate, and execute the plant’s operational strategy aligned with NOV’s business goals and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Own the facility’s P&L and ensure delivery of annual performance objectives for revenue, margin, productivity, and cash flow.
  • Lead the translation of strategic objectives into actionable operational goals for each department.
  • Represent the facility in divisional and corporate reviews; communicate plant priorities, risks, and successes.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, empowerment, and results through clear goal-setting and performance management.
  • Lead all production activities to meet key operational metrics in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Drive implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to eliminate waste and enhance process stability.
  • Ensure optimal scheduling, resource planning, and materials management to support customer delivery commitments.
  • Oversee maintenance and asset management to ensure equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Direct process optimization efforts through data-driven decision-making, root cause analysis, and problem-solving frameworks.
  • Maintain high standards of production documentation and adherence to the Global Quality Procedures (GQP-08, GQP-09, GQP-10).
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering teams to deploy new technologies and best practices.
  • Champion the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) culture by embedding safety accountability into every level of the organization.
  • Promote proactive hazard identification, safety observations, and leadership engagement to achieve a Zero Harm workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, ISO/API, and ASME requirements, including those defined under the NOV Global Quality System (GQP-01 through GQP-10).
  • Maintain readiness for internal and external audits, customer inspections, and Management Review (GQP-01).
  • Lead internal audit preparation and follow-up per GQP-02 to ensure continuous compliance and effectiveness of the QMS.
  • Drive corrective and preventive action programs per GQP-03 and ensure risk management and MOC processes (GQP-04) are effectively implemented.
  • Lead all financial planning and control activities for the plant including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
  • Manage operating expenses and capital investments to optimize profitability and asset utilization.
  • Monitor key financial indicators such as gross margin, labor efficiency, scrap rates, and working capital.
  • Partner with Cost Accounting and operations to evaluate performance trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide clear and actionable insights to senior leadership regarding plant financial performance.
  • Build and sustain a high-performance team through recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Set clear expectations for leadership behavior, performance, and accountability across the organization.
  • Ensure a culture of inclusion, fairness, and respect, where employees are empowered to contribute ideas and own results.
  • Maintain regular communication sessions to ensure the workforce understands business priorities and achievements.
  • Support employee learning and development programs, ensuring all critical competencies are met and maintained.
  • Lead change management initiatives with transparency and empathy to sustain workforce engagement through transformation.
  • Lead a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging employee participation in problemsolving and innovation.
  • Implement structured improvement programs to reduce waste, enhance yield, and improve overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Integrate risk-based thinking into daily operations and strategic decision-making per GQP-04.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive performance reviews to sustain operational discipline.
  • Leverage new technologies and digital tools to enhance visibility, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure products meet all customer and specification requirements for quality and delivery.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Sales to align plant capacity and output with customer demand.
  • Act as the key contact for customers and regulatory bodies, representing the facility’s performance and compliance posture.
  • Partner with internal functions and sister facilities to share best practices and optimize global manufacturing efficiency.
