About The Position

The Plant Operator is responsible for ensuring the proper operation of the MRF processing equipment. This position is responsible for relaying proper instructions to the team of what is required for each system they are overseeing. This position requires a detail-oriented person able to maintain focus in a fast paced environment with the ability to communicate professionally with their peers and management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and/or GED.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job -- constant climbing up/down the Equipment
  • Ability to distinguish between various recyclable materials.
  • Safety conscious.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Acts in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward co-workers; works with honesty and trustworthiness.
  • Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Good follow through ability; ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise.
  • Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules set forth; promotes the Company's safety standards; does not take inappropriate risks.
  • Maintains a feeling of pride in work; strives to achieve all goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Able to understand equipment controls.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-and post-operation inspection of the processing equipment in accordance with Company policy to ensure equipment is in proper operating condition.
  • Efficiently and safety operate the system in a manner that does not endanger personnel or equipment, and that complies with the company's operating and safety policies.
  • Ensure proper attire is worn at all times, including closed-toed shoes, and personal protective equipment (safety vests, safety goggles, gloves, dust masks).
  • Advise Maintenance Supervisor/Manager of any operational problems
  • Assists in maintaining the work areas in a clean and safe manner
  • Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
