Position type: Exempt Position Overview: The Plant Services Supervisor is responsible for leading the Plant Services team, assuring personnel compliance with operating standards, and assisting with environmental, health, and safety compliance for the facility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma; Degree in a technical, engineering or relevant field will be an advantage.
  • 6 years of experience in a manufacturing facility with chemical processes and 3 years relevant supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Written & verbal communication with all groups associated with 24/7 utility operations. Production, Maintenance, Purchasing, Plant Engineering, Construction, R&D Analytical, Safety, Environmental.
  • First Aid & CPR.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, DEP, and DOT regulations. Highly Hazardous materials, Process Management Programs (PMPs), water & air quality, chemical transportation by rail.
  • Combinations of strong social skills with an assertive personality and willingness to address and document personnel issues. Document progressive discipline and corrective actions. Enforce safety guidelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • In matters relating to site infrastructure, works closely with various functions including GTP’s Environmental and Safety Department to ensure operations are in compliance with regulatory requirements from public authorities, government agencies and local residents.
  • Emergency Response Co-ordination.
  • Ensure correct operations and maintenance of Hydrogen Recovery, Ammonia Recovery, Industrial gases (H2 Generation, H2 Tanks, N2 Generation, Argon Tank), and Bulk Chemical storage and distribution (includes Hydrated Ammonia).
  • Ensure correct operations and maintenance of Boilers, Steam and Condensate systems, Waste Water Treatment, and Water Systems - includes soft, DI, Raw (Well) water.
  • Ensure material levels are adequate and co-ordinate replenishment.
  • Employee Time & Attendance, Scheduling, and Vacation Requests.
  • Co-ordinate employee call-off coverage.
  • New employee Orientation & Training.
  • Assist operators to work through equipment issues and alarms.
  • Calls in appropriate additional help when needed.
  • Highly involved in Plant Services related shutdown activities.
  • Obtains quotes for repairs and contract maintenance, issues Purchase Requests for new/used parts
  • Issues Work Orders and works with maintenance personnel.
  • Collaborates with operational stakeholders to revise and update operational, quality, and safety ISO documentation.
