The Plasma Processing Technician is responsible for evaluating donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and administering approved immunizations, excluding red blood cell immunizations. The role includes providing limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, promoting positive customer relations, and conducting confidential interviews with donors to assess their suitability for plasma donation. The technician works closely with the Center Medical Director and/or Center Physician to address medically related questions and performs medical history reviews and health assessments on donors. They are also responsible for notifying and counseling donors regarding reactive test results and explaining informed consent to applicants. The technician handles medical emergencies, manages immunization programs, ensures accurate recording of donor data, and maintains a clean and efficient work environment while following health and safety policies. Bilingual skills may be required to meet business needs.
