PLASTIC INJECTION MOLDIING ENGINEERTRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN - PLANT As a member of the Molding team, the Plastics Engineer will be responsible for design and manufacturing phases of new program development, quality continuous improvement and collaboration, and performing data analysis.The Role: Your work will include, but not be limited to: Leading and developing Process Technicians Developing standards and best practices for part design, tool design, and production. Communicating with vendors, global project teams, and customers to solve any problems encountered during development and manufacturing. The Hour by Hour Task Breakdown with percentages: Working with production team and improving internal process efficiency/scrap (70%) Meetings/Product development communication (20%) Communicating with direct reports (10%)

Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience in Injection molding
  • Degree in related mechanical engineering or plastics technology
  • Desire to work in hands on environment
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Knowledge of engineering materials, inclusive of molds, resin types, and molding best practices
  • Experience in part design and tool design for injection molding.
  • Experience with mechanical drawings and CAD software.

Nice To Haves

  • Robotics experience (programming and integrating.)
  • Ferris State Plastics Program grad
  • Solidworks experience.
