About The Position

The YouVersion Platform Product Manager is responsible for owning and delivering key product initiatives that power external developers, churches, and partners to build Bible-centered digital experiences. Unlike traditional app product roles, this role operates in a B→B→C ecosystem — serving developers and partners who in turn serve end users. This Product Manager will work closely with engineering, design, analytics, licensing, and partner-facing teams to shape APIs, authentication flows, SDK capabilities, entitlement systems, and partner tooling that extend God’s Word beyond the YouVersion family of apps. This role reports into Platform Product Leadership and partners closely with Engineering and Architecture to move quickly while maintaining long-term scalability and integrity. YouVersion exists to fulfill the mission: God’s Word. Everyone, Everywhere. Every Day. Platform extends that mission by enabling innovators around the world to build Bible-inspired, Bible-infused experiences in their own contexts and heart languages. What You'll Do Lead product ownership for specific Platform domains (e.g., Login with YouVersion, Partner onboarding, SDK features, entitlement flows, developer tooling, etc.). Translate high-level strategy into clear, actionable requirements and user journeys. Create and maintain detailed PRDs with emphasis on user flows, edge cases, data exchange implications, and long-term scalability. Design solutions that balance developer experience (DX), partner requirements, end-user simplicity, and licensing and publisher expectations. Think beyond UI — understand identity, data exchange, entitlement enforcement, and audit requirements. Collaborate closely with API, Infrastructure, and Architecture teams. Understand technical tradeoffs in authentication, authorization, API design, SDK distribution, and monitoring. Help balance speed-to-market (YVP1) with long-term scalability (YVP2). Define key activity metrics for your product area (adoption, API usage, login conversion, entitlement checks, etc.). Partner with Analytics to clarify event design and transformation logic. Contribute to uncertified insight reporting while helping mature metrics toward certified KPIs over time. Participate in conversations with strategic partners (e.g., churches, ministries, technology partners). Help translate partner needs into structured product opportunities. Document and track experiments that validate adoption and long-term value. Support quarterly roadmap planning. Help identify low-hanging fruit vs. long-term foundational work. Communicate tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
