Set-up, operate and maintain a variety of machines to produce parts for metal fabric as well as textured surface parts. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or (GED) General Education Degree (applies to anyone hired after 1997).

Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of repetitive operations, racking, un-racking, plating, assembly, using hand and power tools, set-up, bending, drilling, packing, benders, presses, drilling machines, induction welding, fabric machines, assemble parts for a variety of products making adjustments and clean machines daily.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions, operation sheets, processes and clearly-defined procedures to complete tasks.
  • Use overhead hoist, lift truck and other material handling equipment as required.
  • Load parts, raw steel and remove parts after forming, assembly and bead-blasting as required.
  • Perform duties and various similar functions in prescribed sequence as necessary for proper fit and operation.
  • Help maintain solutions for effective cleaning and plating operations “processes” to produce quality parts. Processes include cleaning, electroless-nickel, acid rinses, plating and rinsing.
  • Loading and unloading racks and plating barrels and place into tanks in proper sequence for required cycle times.
  • Help dump, clean and flush tanks and assist in preparing new solutions.
  • Handle hazardous waste and hazardous substances.
  • Do minor maintenance on equipment as required.
  • Fill out and attach in-ticket cards to finished products, report labor and other necessary data to the system.
  • Ensure that parts are in conformance to prescribed quality criteria.
  • Help in planning daily and weekly production runs; enter quantities, production adjustments to schedule and other appropriate information into the computer.
  • Operate a variety of manual or computerized testing equipment to check parts for quality.
  • Responsible for both quality and quantity of work: Participate in team activities and problem solving sessions as required.
  • Communicate problems and/or solutions to appropriate team member.
  • Must follow processes and procedures as written.
  • As needed, document and/or chart production data to aid in problem identification, quality feedback and production scheduling.
  • Troubleshoot problems when necessary.
  • Train, instruct and assist other operators in their duties as required to ensure a quality product and smooth flow.
  • Evaluate defective material and tooling, faulty operations, questionable conditions and potential work stoppages.
  • Advise and recommend alternatives to appropriate team member. (May require the use of computer and telecommunication device).
  • Ensure that work area and equipment are maintained in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations.
