The Player Engagement Consultant will support the Connecticut, Metropolitan, Northeastern New York & Central New York Sections and Membership so this individual must reside within one of these Sections. This position is responsible for utilizing expertise in the principles of player engagement, coaching, and programming to - 1) consult and advise PGA Professionals on value creation for themselves and their employers; 2) deliver player engagement products to execute against those principles; 3) provide coach and athlete development training based on the American Development Model for Golf; 4) and collaborate at a high level with PGA Sections, field teams, and stakeholders. Success is measured by - 1) reporting of value created for PGA Coaches; 2) participation and growth in the department’s products; 3) participation and growth in the department’s coach training; 4) Section ED and fellow field staff feedback on collaboration and communication. RESPONSIBILITIES (Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to): Consult with PGA Professionals and facility operators on sport development principles - 1) understanding the consumer; 2) understanding the needs of the business; 3) developing a programming model to maximize consumer engagement and financial health of the facility. Implement and operate the department’s nationally-branded PGA consumer engagement products, including but not limited to PGA Jr. League, ADM, and PGA Coach. Support additional department initiatives and partners, including but not limited to Drive, Chip and Putt, National Collegiate Club Golf Association (NCCGA), PGA Camps, National High School Golf Association, and other programs applicable to driving value for PGA Coaches and facilities. Consult and advise on the optimal programming model at PGA Coach sites and assist PGA Coach with planning and implementation. Share and disseminate data analytics on performance in applicable regions and Sections. Build critical path partnerships with all Association stakeholders to PGA members, facilities, allied associations and the like within locally assigned markets. Build and execute an approved business plan that aligns with the Association’s Long-term Strategic vision for Player Engagement. Collaborate and serve as a resource in the development of Section based Player Engagement staff. Help ensure the organization's values-based culture thrives by keeping Leadership aware of the pulse of the workforce; recognizing and discussing any cultural concerns. SUPERVISION: No supervisory responsibilities. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: Assist with the development of the annual budget for the Player Engagement department. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. /B.S.) in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Seven years of golf industry experience and/or program management. Knowledge of PGA Jr. League, PGA Coach, PGA of America and the Golf Industry is required. PGA Member preferred SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: Must have skills in public speaking and presentations; skills in the development of effective “mass communication”. Must have the ability to make presentations, present information, and respond to questions representing the Association. Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with PGA Sections, Section Business Operations (SBO) Department, and field teams in their territory. Knowledge of Google Workspace. The approximate pay range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
