About The Position

This position is directly responsible for the safety of subordinates on the job site, and leads by example of good craftsmanship on all assignments. This position, at various times, will be asked to perform administration and supervision duties in the absence of his supervisor, large-scale projects, or in times of emergency. This position works on both above ground and underground systems including, fire mains, standpipes, low pressure gas, and steam, domestic hot/ cold water, chilled water, condenser water, compressed gases, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, heating water, and natural gas.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience or training in pipefitting, steam fitting, or plumbing.
  • One year of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience
  • Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Works with and from plans, and specifications to install new, and or modify existing plumbing/piping systems. Works with contractors on deferred maintenance, tile 38, and emergency repair projects to insure quality of craftsmanship, safety of building occupants, and ensure utility outages have the minimal effect on building occupants.
  • Installs, troubleshoots repairs, modifies, and inspects steam, gas, water, storm drains, acid waste, and sanitary sewer, compressed gases, heating water, chill water, water heaters, boilers, fan coils, control valves, air handlers, lab equipment, firewater, fire sprinklers and standpipes. This to include all related piping, valves, fittings, and, fixtures.
  • Performs multiple skills such as insulation, welding, carpentry, painting, and cleaning to complete job assignments as required.
  • Performs administration duties such as preparing time reports, purchasing materials, and making job assignments in absence of supervisor, large scale projects, or in time of emergency.
  • Other duties as assigned.
