About The Position

Summary Primary duty is delivering cement powder from Distributers to Ready Mix Batch plants in a safe and efficient manner, while maintaining a clean and safe tractor and trailer. Functional Responsibilities Ø Exhibit a strong work ethic with the ability to take direction and work in a team setting and independently. Ø Adhere to Permian Basin Materials Code of Conduct and company policies. Ø Perform related loading and unloading operations of various load ingredients to concrete plant silos such as cement and fly ash as directed by dispatchers and terminal operators in an efficient and safe manner. Ø Professionally operate the vehicle and equipment and perform all tasks in a safe manner to include maintaining fuel and water at proper levels. This includes being able to maneuver the truck into and out of particularly tight places and/or over uneven terrain. Ø Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of the truck and all associated elements. Ø Follow order and delivery instructions received from dispatchers and/or other supervisors and managers regarding material and properly complete and return all required paperwork. Ø Prepare truck for delivery and deliver product to job sites following USDOT and IDOT. Maintain a driving record and logbooks in accordance with Federal and State Motor Carrier Regulations and company policy. Ø Perform pre-and post-trip vehicle safety inspection and report findings to the dispatcher at beginning and end of each shift. Keep the inside of the cab clean and sanitary. Perform cleaning and routine maintenance of the truck. Ø Wear protective clothing and equipment as required and follow all company safety procedures. Ø Work professionally around caustic substances such as cement, lime, admixtures, dust, and fuels which can cause burns and irritants when not used carefully. Ø Comply with all Safety, Health, Environmental and other Company policies and procedures. Ø Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and follow all relevant USDOT, environmental, and traffic laws.
  • Must be able to pass or hold a current DOT medical exam card.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of tractor trailer experience.
  • Must have English language reading and writing abilities.
  • A valid Class A CDL license with no major violations that would exclude a person from driving for business as defined by our insurance carrier and company policy.
  • Candidate must be drug free.
  • Position requires moderately strenuous physical work.
  • Must be able to: o Lift and carry up to 45 pounds from floor to 3’ – 5’ occasionally, o Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds frequently, o Climb in and out of equipment 50+ times per day, o Climb up and down ladders occasionally, o Sit or stand for extended periods of time, o Use hands, fingers, and feet to operate and/or service heavy construction machinery and concrete mixers and haul trucks, o Travel safely while walking and while operating heavy machinery and/or trucks over uneven terrain, roads, and pavement, o See, hear, and respond to verbal, visual, and written instructions and to moving heavy construction machinery, o Wear proper protective equipment including hard hat, safety glasses, high visibility clothing, steel-toed boots, and gloves, o Observe all company Safety policies on company premises and while operating heavy construction machinery, o Continually work in extreme hot and cold weather conditions, o Work safely in wet, muddy, and slippery conditions occasionally
