The subassembly position consists of many different aspects. Subassembly is the final step before final assembly is started. The operator will be responsible for installing/building subcomponents on timing covers, valve covers, oil coolers, EGR coolers, pistons, turbos, rocker assemblies, camshafts and various other components depending on the unit. This position will require high attention to detail to be able to identify defects in product prior to the component making it to the final assembly position. Reading and following specs as they are listed is a must. The ability to read and set a torque wrench will be necessary as well as using calibrated gauges and basic hand tools. The use of computer programs will be limited but will still be part of the position.
