Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field required.
  • NYSED license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
  • At least four years of Laboratory experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Point of Care Testing Coordinator oversees all testing performed at the Point of Care on all campuses. Ensures testing, maintenance, and quality control procedures are performed as per Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Oversees the performance of waived and non-waived testing procedures in locations other than the main laboratories.
  • Coordinates and standardizes the approach to POC testing within the hospital setting.
  • Ensures a comprehensive policy and procedure manual for point of care testing is available, accurate, and current.
  • Ensures accurate processing and reporting of all point of care testing data.
  • Monitors associated QC data for shift and trends.
  • Under the direction of the manager, validates, correlates, and implements new and replacement POCT testing devices.
  • Maintains compliance with regulatory requirements for POCT testing systems.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships; advises and consults physicians, nurses, and other testing personnel.
  • Actively supports a positive workplace culture; maintains effective employee and labor relation practices.
  • Performs all other duties assigned.
