The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. The incumbent functions as a Trainee, learning to manage Watch Center operations driven by real-time events. While learning that all duties hold equal weight, the Trainee develops the ability to adjust to shifting task prioritization and learns to handle responsibilities in a continuous rolling cycle based on the immediate needs presented by each phone call. Learns to provide courteous and professional customer service at all times. Learns to promptly and accurately answer incoming calls and directs to the appropriate department. Learns to determine the call/activity type. Learns to dispatch a detective to the scene. Learns to utilize CJIS, and NCIC systems to gather absconding demographics, gather traffic record information, and learns to enter warrants into NCIC. Learns to record serious incidents into the Record Management System (RMS) from correctional facilities and the public. Learns to monitor the violation status of incarcerated individuals on the Central Home Detention Program using the BI Total Access monitoring Global Positioning System, and learned to conduct follow-up via telephone. Learns to navigate and utilize the OCMS database for daily operations. Performs other related duties.
