About The Position

Milacron is looking for a Polisher to join our team in McPherson, KS! The Polisher is responsible for the set-up and operation on a variety of machinery to produce a large assortment of parts or finishes often of a complex nature. Must apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics and machining procedures. Work You’ll Do: Verify correct product using job traveler to set-up and operate a variety of machinery to blueprint specifications, reading part drawing with sectional views. Achieve specified micro finishes; polish to form sharp corners, hold specified limits on I.D. using deburring tools with special cutters on a variety of production parts. Monitor machine performance and perform preventative maintenance to assure continuity of production. Monitor inventory levels and report low levels and discrepancies to supervisor. Work independently; assist and train less experienced machinists to maintain plant standards in areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, 5S, housekeeping, teamwork, and attendance. Demonstrate personal leadership; actively participate in or lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts, recommend improvements for area product and processes. Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress or emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments. Interact professionally when interacting with customers and employees. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of related experience

  • Technical school with certificate is preferred
