About The Position

Do you love the water? Would you like to earn money this summer while spending your days by the pool? Lifeguards are hired to oversee the safe operation of the Big Blue Bay by enforcing and following policies, rules, regulations and ordinances governing the conduct of patrons and staff; assists with the upkeep and maintenance of the facilities and equipment during the time in which activities are taking place. Prior certification is not required! New lifeguards will be trained and certified right here in Alliance. The position involves working various hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. Pool staff are scheduled to attend a one-hour orientation May 11, 2026. Lifeguard Training and Certification will be scheduled on Friday/Saturday May 22 and 23, 2026. If you are applying for a Lifeguard position, you MUST attend this training to become certified for the Season. (Returning Lifeguard must attend the CPR and Re-certification portion of this two-day event.) If you have questions, please contact Shana Brown or Joan Ryan at the Museum: 762-2384. Starting Wage: $15.00/hour - Eligible rehires from the previous season may be eligible for a pay increase! Notice to Minors: Individuals under the age of 16 will be required to provide a Minor Work Authorization form before hire. Individuals hired must also be able to produce valid documentation of their authorization to work in the United States including a photo ID. If you do not currently possess a photo ID, information is available from the State of Nebraska DMV website on obtaining a State Identification card.
