About The Position

The Lifeguard is responsible for using appropriate rescue techniques if observing swimmers in need. This position is responsible for observing and scanning the pool area for dangerous conditions, unusual or unsafe activities, and swimmers who are struggling. Promote rules and regulations of the Company. The Lifeguard creates a fun and relaxing environment by providing excellent guest service.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Outgoing, enthusiastic, and personable demeanor.
  • Strong swimming ability required.
  • Must be able to work efficiently within a team environment.
  • Possession of a valid certification from the American Red Cross in CPR.
  • Possession of valid Lifeguard training and First Aid Certification.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must have the ability to withstand high and low temperatures, heat, sun, wind and rain for entirety of shift.
  • Ability to stand, sit and walk for an extended period of time for up to 85% of shift.
  • Ability to run or jog to respond to work situations at an appropriate speed for up to 85% of shift.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and above 50 pounds with assistance for entirety of shift.
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, grasping, and stooping for up to 85% of shift.
  • Ability to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as up and down ladders, stairs and/or service ramps frequently, up to 85% of shift.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values.
  • Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Graton Resort & Casino standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional Guest service to all Guests and Team Members.
  • Ensure that all Guests are greeted in a friendlymanner.
  • Responsible forensuring that the pool area is clean, organized, and stocked according to department standards.
  • Be proactive in preventing accidents. Be alert, use proper scanning techniques and avoid unnecessary talking while on duty.
  • Be professional and tactful in enforcement of Company rules and regulations.
  • Respond quickly to all emergency situations including administration of emergency care to any person injured in the pool area.
  • Promptly complete or assist in the completion of water rescue and/or incident report.
  • Convey a professional image through a positive attitude and proper attire.
  • Establish and maintain guest service and provide assistance in a courteous manner at all times.
  • Seat guests upon entry into the pool area. Offering towels and amenities provided.
  • Must have towels available for guests.
  • Inspect facility for cleanliness and perform cleaning duties as required.
  • Take the necessary actions when dealing with patrons who are causing disturbances, or who persist in violating expressed policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with fellow Team Members to ensure quality service and a friendly environment for guests.
  • Must be knowledgeable regarding all menus, pricing, and pool offerings with the ability to explain them to Guests.
  • Must be knowledgeable regarding cabana/daybed reservation process.
  • Complete all necessary opening and closing duties.
  • Must complete all training courses as specified by management.
