About The Position

Under general supervision responsible for custodial duties, mowing, trimming, trash removal, set up for events and painting.

Requirements

  • Any combination equivalent to sufficient experience, training and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above.
  • Typically, this would be gained through: attending high school and one year custodial or related experience including some work maintaining pools.
  • Knowledge of: Equipment, materials and methods used in pool maintenance and general custodial work; safe use and care of cleaning materials and equipment used in pool maintenance and general custodial work; operation of hand and power tools and equipment used in custodial work and pool maintenance; proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies; requirements of maintaining pools and facilities in a safe and sanitary condition; and basic record-keeping techniques
  • Ability to: Perform responsible maintenance and custodial duties; maintain surrounding areas in as safe and sanitary manner; understand and follow oral and written instructions; use cleaning materials safely and efficiently; and operate tools and equipment related to maintenance functions in a safe manner.
  • Skill in: Providing effective customer service and problem-solving.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to furnish and obtain information from other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains cleanliness of pool, decks, gutters and surrounding areas.
  • Empties trash containers.
  • Performs HAZMAT/safety inspections; maintains logs.
  • Performs duties of a custodian as assigned (e.g. sweeping, locker room cleaning, etc. for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.
  • Performs minor repairs to pool equipment for the purpose of maintaining a safe operating condition.
  • Prepares swimming facility for scheduled activities in coordinator with the Pool Manager.
  • Attends meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. for the purpose of gathering information required to perform job functions.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of equipment such as vacuums, hoses, and various hand and power tools.
  • Maintains a variety of records related to pool temperature, chlorine, pH, vacuuming and assigned activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
