About The Position

Position Summary Blackhawk Country Club is hiring a part-time Pool Monitor. We are seeking reliable and dependable staff to open and/or close the pool, which includes placing or removing the pool’s insulation covers and run chemical test to monitor the pool’s water. Onsite training will be provided at the time of hire. Schedules are typically for open and close only but at times may include pool monitoring during busier times of the season. The pool opens at 6am 7 days a week and open staff usually arrive around 5:15am. The pool closes at 8pm 7 days a week and close staff usually arrive around 7:45pm.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working in a pool setting or similar facility preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of pool maintenance, including water chemical testing, is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
  • Ability to safely and efficiently handle pool equipment, including insulation covers and chemical testing supplies.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in monitoring and adjusting water chemical levels.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work well with supervisors, co-workers, and pool patrons.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving pool covers and equipment.
  • Must be available for early morning, evening, or weekend shifts as needed for opening and closing the pool.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors.

Responsibilities

  • Safely open the pool by removing insulation covers, storing them properly, and ensuring that the pool deck and surrounding areas are clean and hazard-free.
  • Close the pool by securing the insulation covers, ensuring that all equipment and facilities are safely stored, and the pool area is secured.
  • Perform daily water chemical tests to monitor chlorine, pH, and other chemical levels, ensuring that they remain within safe and health-compliant ranges.
  • Inspect pool equipment, including filtration systems and safety equipment, to ensure proper functioning and report any issues to supervisor.
  • Record daily operational logs, including chemical test results and maintenance checks.
  • Carry out additional tasks related to pool operations and facility maintenance as required by management within the scope of the position.
