About The Position

Outbound Sedona is preparing to welcome guests in May 2026, and we are building our opening team now. We are thoughtfully hiring several months in advance to allow time for training, collaboration, and creating the culture that will define our guest experience from day one. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a resort opening and help shape the standards, service style, and team culture together. Our opening team members will play a foundational role in setting expectations, supporting one another, and creating memorable experiences for our very first guests. While the resort is scheduled to open in May 2026, selected candidates may begin onboarding and training in the months leading up to opening. Specific start dates will be discussed during the interview process. The Poolside Bartender creates an exceptional guest experience that exceeds expectations by preparing and serving classic and innovative beverages in our outdoor pool environment at Outbound Sedona. This role is responsible for coordinating the pool bar area and communicating effectively with both front-of-house and back-of-house team members to ensure seamless service. The ideal candidate thrives in an energetic, outdoor resort setting, maintains strong attention to detail, and takes pride in delivering warm, engaging service that reflects the Outbound Sedona brand.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Previous bartending experience preferred, ideally in a resort or high-volume setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of mixology and beverage preparation techniques.
  • Cashiering experience and comfort handling transactions and maintaining a bank.
  • Current Arizona liquor license and food handler permit required (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work well with others and function effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and uphold all established service standards.
  • Prepare and serve all beverages within assigned area of responsibility, including classic cocktails and innovative specialty drinks.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of mixology, recipes, and presentation standards.
  • Coordinate pool bar operations and communicate effectively with culinary, service, and leadership teams.
  • Maintain control of the bar area, including staff workflow, guest interactions, service quality, and overall atmosphere.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the bar and surrounding facilities in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Perform all opening and closing duties, including inventory checks and proper storage of product.
  • Maintain issued bank and follow all cash-handling procedures accurately.
  • Monitor responsible alcohol service and comply with all state and local liquor laws.
  • Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
