As part of our team, you’ll play an important role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly by ensuring cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and supporting a seamless workflow across shifts.

Requirements

1 to 2 years of experience as a porter and/or dishwasher in a café, restaurant, or food service environment.
Strong work ethic with excellent organization, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
Enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
Demonstrates respect for fellow employees, managers, and vendors.
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, reach, bend, and stand for the duration of an 8-hour shift.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a culinary or restaurant setting.
Maintains a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Presents a clean and professional appearance.
Proficiency in knife skills for food preparation.
Knowledge of kitchen safety protocols.
Understanding of safe food handling procedures.
Familiarity with various kitchen tools and equipment.
Strong adherence to sanitary practices and hygiene standards.

Nice To Haves

New York City Food Handler's Certificate is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform general food preparation duties as assigned by the chef.
Receive, inspect, and properly store deliveries according to chef's or manager instructions.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in all kitchen areas throughout the shift.
Assist with deep cleaning and routine maintenance tasks as needed.
Organize and maintain service ware in a neat and orderly manner.
Ensure compliance with NYC Department of Health regulations.
Follow all food safety protocols and sanitation standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation.
