About The Position

As the Portfolio Data Analyst , you will be at the heart of this transformation. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze and interpret data from research and development projects. This analysis will uncover insights, identify trends, and use statistical and computational techniques. You will create visualizations and reports for stakeholders to support strategic decisions. In this role you work closely with Portfolio Managers of Corporate Science & Technology and Global R&D. You will collaborate with various professionals, including researchers, technical leaders, project leaders, portfolio managers, and other data professionals within business units. You work with data collection methods, cleaning and validating data, and applying statistical analyses. These analyses include descriptive data analysis, which provides actionable insights for R&D goals and product development. This work spans across various business units globally. Directly reporting to the PMO Director, Corporate S&T, your seasoned expertise in data analysis, insights, and visualization of data to support leadership will be the guiding compass directing our R&D initiatives. Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related technical field.
  • A good multicultural background with demonstrated experience working in or with international environments. This includes an understanding of diverse markets, global business practices, and cultural nuances.
  • 2+ years of data analysis experience, in manufacturing sectors such as paints, coatings, specialty materials, or chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio insight : Collect, analyze and interpret data from research and development projects to uncover insights, identify trends, and enable strategic decisions, using statistical and computational techniques to create visualizations and reports for stakeholders.
  • Projects: Project specific data analyzes and drive adoption for the Global R&D timekeeping initiative.
  • Collaboration: Involves collaborating with Group leaders and Technical Point Persons. This work includes using data collection methods, cleaning and validating data, and applying statistical analyses. The goal of these efforts is to provide relevant insights for R&D goals and product development across Front-End Innovation and New Product Development projects.
  • Stakeholder Communication : Serve as a point of contact for project updates, ensure stakeholders are kept informed about project status, milestones, and any potential changes or challenges.
  • Resource Management : Proactively analyze resource capacity, in close cooperation with stakeholders and the Global Portfolio Manager.
  • Tools : Drive adoption of Capacity/Demand Planning, and other data collection tools.
  • Performance Metrics : Maintain a system of metrics to evaluate project performance, ensuring consistent monitoring to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement : In close cooperation with the Global Portfolio Manager, regularly review and refine portfolio management processes and tools, seeking opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and value delivery.
