Entry-level postdoc position available for NIH -funded laboratory in the Department of Genetics at Rutgers. The laboratory research uses mouse systems to study processes relevant to human reproduction using genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and microscopy/imaging. A qualified candidate will be capable of working independently to perform lab work in this area, but also manages, trains, and schedules hourly student workers and undergraduate research assistants in various protocols and laboratory operations and procedures. Communicates with the PI in reviewing project performance, status and deadlines on an ongoing basis. Performs independent data review and reporting for all routine, existing and future, research. Responsible for maintaining an accurate and detailed lab notebook, conducting genetic, cell and molecular biology experiments and over-seeing undergraduate research projects. Standard laboratory work include recombinant DNA techniques, phenotypic analysis, epifluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, high throughput genomics, mouse handling, oocyte manipulation and mouse genetic analysis. This position will require presentations of data, making figures and drafting manuscripts.
