About The Position
The Hessam Babaee Lab develops machine-learning algorithms for science and engineering applications. Our efforts focus on reduced-order modeling and probabilistic machine learning methods, which we deploy across domains such as materials science, aerodynamics, and bioengineering.
Requirements
- Applicant must have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, computational science, applied mathematics, or a closely-related field.
- Strong background in computational solid mechanics, scientific machine learning, and computational science and technical publications.
- Preparing reports
- Performing literature reviews
- Supervising graduate and undergraduate students
- Assisting with other projects in the laboratory
- Strong interest in basic and applied research.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team structure delivering project components on given time schedules
- Ability to multi-task
Responsibilities
- Computational/ML code method development
- Code implementation
- Mentoring graduate students
- Writing journal publications, preparing reports that summarize the work conducted for progress reports to funding agencies
- Planning, developing, and implementing technical and scientific research programs
- Contributing to proposal writing and acquisition of preliminary data
