Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The Caceres Lab in the College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Preventive Medicine (VMPM) is accepting applications for a productive and result-oriented postdoctoral associate. The individual will perform different in vitro and in vivo assays to better understand the pathogenesis and viral-host interactions of Influenza A virus and other viral pathogens relevant for animals and humans. In addition, the individual will develop novel vaccine approaches for different animal viruses, including PRRSV and IBV. The individual will evaluate novel antiviral therapies against the Influenza A virus. The individual will also actively participate in the generation of research manuscripts and reports, as well as in mentoring personnel in the Caceres Lab. The work will be performed in state-of-the-art labs with advanced equipment and facilities in Ames, IA, and collaborative institutions across the US.
