Purpose The University of Texas at Austin Renewable Fiber and Composite Laboratory (RFCL) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on a research project for developing wet-spun bio-functional fiber in medical applications. The appointment begins February 2026.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Fiber/Textile Science and Engineering, or a related field in Polymer Material Science and Engineering earned within the last 3 years.
  • Hands-on experience with microfluidic spinning technology
  • Strong record of research publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Resume/CV
  • 3 work references with their contact information; at least one reference should be from a supervisor
  • Letter of interest

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement wet-spinning processes to produce multicomponent fibers
  • Conduct mechanical, thermal, biological, and image analyses of experimental fibers
  • Prepare and compose research manuscripts for publication
