About The Position

The Department of Food Science at the University of Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position within the Rice Processing Program, supervised by Dr. Griffiths Atungulu. The selected candidate will contribute to the advancement of engineering methods in rice processing, focusing on modeling, simulations, and optimizing post-harvest operations, including drying, storage, and milling. Research will emphasize energy efficiency, sustainability, automation, and the production of high-quality, safe commodities and co-products. The role also involves developing methods to assess the physical and chemical properties of various rice cultivars and analyzing how these attributes influence rice behavior during post-harvest operations and end-use processing.

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering (with a focus on food engineering), Food Science, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated research experience in grain or rice processing is required.
