About The Position

The laboratory of Huanyu “Larry” Cheng in the Penn State Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics (ESM) is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to perform research in wearable devices. The Cheng Lab focuses on the design, manufacturing, and application of standalone stretchable device platforms. This position involves the design, fabrication, and application of skin-like wearable electronics and degradable sensors for biomedicine. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, supervising graduate students, student mentoring, co-authoring journal articles, research project development, and proposal preparation.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in mechanical, electrical, biomedical, or a related engineering field by the appointment date
  • Proven independent and collaborative research experience

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in material synthesis/preparation, facile fabrication processes, or device/system integration for biomedical applications
  • A strong background and publication record in the design and fabrication of wearable devices with an emphasis on biomedical applications
