About The Position

The Department of Medicine seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to join a dynamic cardiovascular translational research program focused on mechanisms of atrial fibrillation, cardiometabolic disease, and precision medicine approaches. This position will contribute to mechanistic studies integrating electrophysiology, molecular biology, and advanced cellular models to advance translational cardiovascular science.

Requirements

  • PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in cardiovascular biology, physiology, molecular biology, or a related field.
  • Strong publication record and evidence of research productivity.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and collaborative skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in patch-clamp electrophysiology or cardiac electrophysiology techniques preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research using mouse models of atrial fibrillation and cardiometabolic stress.
  • Perform in vivo and ex vivo cardiac electrophysiology studies.
  • Conduct patch-clamp electrophysiology and related functional assays.
  • Perform molecular, transcriptomic, and mechanistic analyses of cardiovascular tissues and cells.
  • Analyze and interpret complex datasets and contribute to hypothesis-driven experimental design.
  • Prepare manuscripts and assist with grant applications.
  • Present research findings at national and international scientific meetings.
  • Mentor graduate students and research trainees as appropriate.
