About The Position

The Market Segment Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow sales and market share within the Power Generation Industry. This role requires deep knowledge of customer processes, market trends, and the ability to translate market needs into actionable product and commercial strategies. It plays a pivotal role in aligning Ruhrpumpen’s offerings with market demands and managing key client relationships.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in industrial B2B within the Power Market (pumps / rotating equipment or adjacent /Engineering Firms) with leadership experience.
  • Proven market development and matrix leadership across regions.
  • Strong command of CRM and quoting governance.
  • Demonstrated partnership with other areas to shape roadmaps and bring new/adjacent offers to market.
  • Executive communication and relationship skills for senior customers, EPCs/design institutes, and internal leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Understand pump applications, customer purchasing processes, and expectations within the different verticals within the Power Market
  • Analyze global trends and identify growth opportunities. Including but not limited to Conventional Power Generation, Renewable Power Generation, and Data Centers / AI Training Clusters
  • Act as the knowledge bridge between Sales, Product Line Management, R&D, and manufacturing.
  • Translate customer language into actionable strategies.
  • Develop mid- to long-term business plans.
  • Guide product development and fill product gaps via white-label agreements.
  • Monitor competitor activity and share insights internally.
  • Identify and manage key accounts in coordination with Sales.
  • Lead supplier qualification processes and framework agreement negotiations.
  • Track market projects via CRM and identify sales team expansion needs.
  • Engage with process licensors and technology providers to position RP’s capabilities.
  • Support sales teams in customer visits, presentations, and quotes.
  • Represent RP at industry events and technical committees.
  • Develop marketing materials and communicate success stories.
  • Educate sales teams on market applications and pricing.
  • Coordinate RFQs and ensure technical/commercial compliance.
  • Provide technical support during proposal phases.
  • Conduct SWOT analyses and competitor benchmarking.
  • Research upcoming power projects and market activity.
  • Prepare marketing materials and generate leads through outreach.
