About The Position

The Power Plant Mechanic is experienced in all phases of steam generation, maintenance of boilers, chillers, and auxiliary equipment. Responsibilities include monitoring power plant equipment; reading and interpreting control circuits, schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and specifications to determine proper operation. This individual tests, maintains, and repairs power plant equipment; monitors contractor's work to ensure quality and code compliance. Standard Working Hours: This position is for 2nd shift - 3 PM - 11 PM. Holidays and Weekend Shifts are required as scheduled. Rotating shifts, as needed. Position is classified as: Mission Essential Personnel

Requirements

  • High School or Trade School equivalent
  • 1 year related work experience in this area
  • Refrig Recovery Cert Type II, or Universal certification required. Refrig Recovery Cert Type III preferred.
  • Driver's License- Valid, no points
  • Backflow Prevention Device tester's license required in most facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Refrig Recovery Cert Type III preferred.
