Power Plant Mechanic
About The Position
The Power Plant Mechanic is experienced in all phases of steam generation, maintenance of boilers, chillers, and auxiliary equipment. Responsibilities include monitoring power plant equipment; reading and interpreting control circuits, schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and specifications to determine proper operation. This individual tests, maintains, and repairs power plant equipment; monitors contractor's work to ensure quality and code compliance. Standard Working Hours: This position is for 2nd shift - 3 PM - 11 PM. Holidays and Weekend Shifts are required as scheduled. Rotating shifts, as needed. Position is classified as: Mission Essential Personnel
Requirements
- High School or Trade School equivalent
- 1 year related work experience in this area
- Refrig Recovery Cert Type II, or Universal certification required. Refrig Recovery Cert Type III preferred.
- Driver's License- Valid, no points
- Backflow Prevention Device tester's license required in most facilities.
