About The Position

Power Systems Engineer job in McLeansville, North Carolina is available with Moseley Technical Services Top Undersea Systems company. In this job you will develop Undersea Communication Systems. Responsibilities: As an electrical engineer for Undersea Systems, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for developing Undersea Communication System:

Requirements

  • U.S. citizen with ability to obtain Department of Defense Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor degree in Systems Engineering, or STEM and 5+ years of experience, or a Master's degree and 3+ years of experience.
  • Deep understanding of electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools and mixed Signal circuit analysis/design
  • Circuit Design, test and troubleshooting expertise
  • Experience with spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment
  • Experience with Worst Case Circuit Analysis and FMEA for both design and diagnosis applications
  • Isolated Switching Converters, analog design and instrumentation

Nice To Haves

  • High Voltage DC Power systems / Module design. Experience should include multiple power topology design experience from few watts to KW+ converters.
  • High voltage applications, power transmission systems, power electronics and HVDC technology
  • Fiber optic experience with transmitters, receivers, optical passives and fiber handling are desirable
  • Experience in working in a lab environment building circuit cards, assemblies, and modules

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and troubleshoot high-voltage DC power systems, including isolated switching converters and modules ranging from a few watts to kilowatts.
  • Develop and support analog and mixed-signal circuits for high-performance instrumentation and control systems.
  • Conduct circuit board testing, integration, and debugging, including use of oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other lab equipment.
  • Implement and support fiber optic systems, including transmitters, receivers, optical passives, and fiber handling.
  • Perform Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for both design validation and fault diagnosis.
  • Create detailed specifications, requirements, and verification procedures for electronic systems and components.
  • Contribute to R&D efforts and technology innovation, including circuit card architecture, component selection, and assembly techniques.
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional design teams for complex electrical hardware development projects.
