POWERSPORTS MASTER TECHNICIAN (off-road)
About The Position
Anderson Powersports is seeking a Master Powersports Off-Road Technician to join our growing service department. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician who takes pride in their craft, enjoys solving complex mechanical problems, and wants to be part of a professional, high-performing shop environment. We are currently preparing for the expansion of our new 18-bay service facility, and we are looking for technicians who want to grow with us and help build one of the strongest powersports service departments in the region. The Master Technician serves as a technical leader within the shop, performing advanced diagnostics and repairs while assisting other technicians with complex issues. This position requires expert-level mechanical knowledge, strong diagnostic ability, and a commitment to quality workmanship and team success.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience as a powersports technician or similar mechanical role
- Expert knowledge of ATV, UTV, dirt bike, and side-by-side systems
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
- Experience performing engine, drivetrain, electrical, and suspension repairs
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals and wiring diagrams
- Proficiency using diagnostic scanners and manufacturer software
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a professional shop environment
Nice To Haves
- Manufacturer certifications such as Polaris, Can-Am, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Honda, or KTM
- Master-level technician certification or equivalent experience
- Experience with performance modifications and aftermarket installations
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Leadership or mentoring experience within a shop environment
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues on off-road powersports vehicles including ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikes, and side-by-sides
- Perform advanced troubleshooting on engines, drivetrains, suspension systems, fuel systems, and electrical systems
- Complete engine rebuilds, transmission repairs, and performance upgrades
- Utilize manufacturer diagnostic tools and service manuals to accurately identify and resolve issues
- Assist and mentor other technicians with difficult diagnostics and repairs
- Conduct final quality inspections on completed repairs to ensure safety, reliability, and proper operation
- Accurately document diagnostics, labor times, parts used, and service notes within the service management system
- Communicate clearly with service advisors regarding repair needs, timelines, and parts requirements
- Stay current with manufacturer service bulletins, new models, and evolving technologies
- Assist with warranty diagnostics and documentation according to manufacturer guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
