Our Community Care Regional Podiatry and Surgery office is hiring a full-time Practice Coordinator, Patient Support Technician. This position will perform a variety of secretarial duties and assist physicians with patient care. The hours are Monday and Tuesday 8:00am-6:00pm, Wednesday and Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm, and Friday 8:00am-3:00pm. Responsibilities include: Coordinate aspects of day-to-day office operations including the coordination of all office tasks and duties, patient registration, telephone reception and triage, appointments, referrals, medical transcription, ordering of supplies, review of purchase orders and invoices, review of packing slips and forwarding of packing slips to purchasing clerk, and maintenance of equipment and instruments. Schedule appointments for patients either by phone when they call in or in person after an office visit. Prepare payroll accurately and in a timely fashion, in accordance with established Community Care procedures. Prepare daily deposit and cash reconciliation report. Identify issues that affect patient satisfaction and develop an action plan to address and resolve problems. Assist CBO Billing Department with appeals when services are denied by third party payers. Create and ensure a working environment that protects patient confidentiality and the privacy of medical information. Coordinate Site response to charts requested by third party payers for purposes of conducting audits. Work with physicians and Human Resources on employee relation issues, recruitment, benefits, corrective action and terminations, according to established Community Care procedures, if needed. Act as the liaison between office, CBO Management and Staff. Meet with Site Medical Manager on a regular basis and keeps him/her informed regarding issues of importance. Understand and comply with all Community Care policies and procedures, including those pertaining to patient confidentiality, financial and regulatory compliance. Schedule appointments for patients, following office protocols for access to care. Obtain patient signature on appropriate waiver(s) according to insurance requirements. Organize and monitor provider's daily schedule. Maintain timely patient flow. Prepare patient for visit and prepare charts as appropriate, based on office/provider requirements. Room patients appropriately and obtain vital signs. Obtain specimens (i.e., urine, blood, etc.) from patients as directed by the provider. Collect and/or addresses patient's outstanding balances according to office policy and procedure. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
